Comets 2000 Football Team Honored at 25th Anniversary Celebration
The 2000 Solon Comets football team will be recognized during the Comets’ home opener against Shaker Heights on Friday, Sept. 5. The anniversary tribute will take place on the field between the first and second quarters.
Twenty-five years ago, the Comets carried a perfect record into the state championship game, marking the most successful postseason run in school history. In a matchup of unbeatens, Solon battled Upper Arlington in frigid conditions before falling 15-9.
Though the season ended as State Runners Up, this remains the most storied football season in Comets history - a legacy of grit, determination and Comet pride that still inspires today!
The district invites the community to join in celebrating these alumni who made Solon history! Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Stewart Field (33600 Inwood Rd.)
