School Start and End Times

Regano Early Learning Center

Morning sessions run from 8 to 10:30 a.m.
Afternoon sessions from noon to 2:30 p.m.

Elementary (Lewis, Parkside and Roxbury)

Start Time: 8 a.m. (Arrival begins at 7:45 a.m.)
End Time: 2:30 p.m.

Orchard Middle School

Start Time: 8:50 a.m. (Students may begin arriving at 8:01 a.m. for intramurals.)
End Time: 3:40 p.m.

Solon Middle School

Start Time: 8:40 a.m. (Doors open at 8:15 a.m.)
End Time: 3:30 p.m.

Solon High School

Start Time: 7:50 a.m. (Doors open at 7:10 a.m.)

PowerSchool Tips

To log into the PowerSchool Parent Viewer, use the same credentials you have used in the past to access the online gradebook and view student report cards.

Families who are new to the district will receive their login information and instructions on how to create a parent/guardian account that they can link to each of their Solon students from their school. If you need assistance, please contact your school office.

Bus Routes & Transportation

2025-26 Bus Route Information

Check back here for important updates on bus routes and school transportation for the 2025–26 school year.

Bus routes were emailed directly to families with the route number, stop time and stop location.

For families new to the district, please use the links below to opt in for bus transportation, daycare and shared parenting transportation. ALL families must submit a new shared parent transportation request annually.

Safety Procedures and Reminders

The safety of students on our school buses is our top priority. State law requires very specific safety precautions by bus drivers, students and family members as they meet their child's bus each day.

All students are assigned and required to use a specific school bus stop with a designated place of safety.

Students should arrive at the designated place of safety for their bus stop 5 minutes prior to the scheduled bus arrival time.

Family members should:

Review the safety rules with their children and explain why the safety rules are important.
Dress children in light-colored clothing or jackets on dark mornings. Check clothing and backpacks for safety: Draw strings and key chains can catch on objects on the bus and create potential safety hazards.
Help children to be ready at the stop before the bus is due to arrive.
If necessary, take turns with friends and neighbors supervising children at bus stops.

Tips for Completing the 2025-26 Annual Information and Emergency Contact Update

Important Information

Each year, families are asked to complete the Annual Information and Emergency Contact Update in PowerSchool. In August, the parent or guardian listed as Contact 1 in our student data system will receive a personalized "snapcode" link along with detailed instructions for completing the update.

Snapcode letters were emailed on August 8. The deadline for submitting your child's Annual Updates is August 20.

Tips for Completing the 2025-26 Annual Information and Emergency Contact Update

How to Update Contacts:

The Contacts section collects the information for ALL student contacts -- parents/guardians and emergency contacts. Please be sure that all parents/guardians, step-parents and other in-home family contacts you need listed are included in the Contacts section along with the emergency contacts.
You will be able to prioritize these contacts in the order you would like them to be contacted in case of emergency in the “Priority” section.

For each Contact, the following Yes/No questions are asked:

Emergency Contact: All parents/guardians and individuals you deem appropriate to be contacted if a child is ill or in an emergency.
Has Custody: Married parents, adoptive parents, shared/joint custody agreement, single parents.
Can Pick Up Student: Contacts, including parents/guardians/emergency contacts, who may pick up the student from school.
Lives With Student: Contacts who live with the student, including shared parenting agreements in separate households.
Resides at: Contacts who live at the student’s primary address.
Receives Mail for Student: Parents/legal guardians who should receive correspondence/messages from the school/district.

We will no longer collect duplicate phone numbers. You will be asked for your preferred phone number as well as other phone numbers you may use. If you need to delete a phone number because it displays more than once, just delete the number and reset the Phone Number Type back to “Select” in the drop-down menu. This will eliminate required phone number fields.

IMPORTANT! To completely remove a person you no longer want to be a contact for your child, use the 'delete this contact' button. Do NOT just the information in the fields or attempt to reorder these contacts. If you want to change the order of the contacts, you will be able to adjust the priority you give to each contact on the next screen labeled PRIORITY to indicate the order contacts should be called in case of an emergency. If a custody arrangement has changed in the past year, you must provide a current court-stamped document to the school.

Get Connected to Your School Event Calendars Now!

The district and individual school online calendars have been updated with events and programs for the 2025-26 school year, enabling families to begin planning now for the upcoming year, especially for important back-to-school events such as orientations and welcome activities.

Building principals will also be sending school-specific communications with details about start-of-the-year programming and protocols, particularly for new students, welcome back events and procedures parents need to know to ensure a smooth transition for the new year.

The integrated online Google calendar system was developed through our strategic planning process in response to family feedback requesting a more flexible format that easily accommodates updates and changes throughout the year. The format allows users to customize their view to see only the information for events and dates they need.

The system integrates eight separate Solon Schools calendars: District, Solon High School, Solon Middle School, Orchard Middle School, Parkside Elementary, Lewis Elementary, Roxbury Elementary and Regano Early Learning Center. The district calendar includes all holidays, days off school, breaks, Board of Education meetings, and district-wide events.

Families are strongly encouraged to subscribe to both the district calendar and each individual school calendar where their students attend. By subscribing, personal calendars will automatically update when changes are made, ensuring families and community members stay current on school-specific dates. Users can customize notification settings to receive alerts for updated events and reminders in the days leading up to programs.

Calendars can be viewed individually for the most pertinent events or as an integrated view displaying all school and district events in one comprehensive calendar. This system ensures effective communication and helps families stay organized throughout the school year.

Parking Permits Open August 4

STEP 1: Complete the Student Parking Form to register your car for a Solon High School parking permit.

STEP 2: Watch GDL Educational Module (online). MUST show a certificate of completion when picking up a permit.

STEP 3: Pay for the parking permit by credit card using the PaySchools system OR check (made out to Solon Board of Education) OR cash. The cost is $25.

STEP 4: Pick up your permit during the scheduled dates at SHS.

Food & Nutrition Services

Lunch Menus

Food & Nutrition Services operates as a self-sustaining program that receives revenue from meals served. When students and parents choose to purchase meals from school, it is the equivalent of supporting a local business. We greatly appreciate your support and thank you for purchasing your child's meal through Solon City Schools' Food & Nutrition Services!

PaySchools Central

Free and Reduced-Price Lunch Applications

Applications for Free and Reduced-Price Lunch must be completed after July 1 of each school year. Families can complete the online Free & Reduced-Price Lunch Application through their PaySchools Central account.

Any Free or Reduced-Price Lunch Applications approved during the 2024-2025 school year will carry over into the 2025-2026 school year for the first 30 days of school or until a new application is processed, whichever occurs first. Applications can be completed at any time during the school year.

District and School Notifications

To be sure you receive email messages from the district and your child’s school, please update your email address book to include Solon City SD and each school. Emails will be shown coming from info@solonboe.org and/or your principal’s name @solonboe.org.

The district sends important notifications such as late bus alerts by email and text message for immediacy. If you have opted out of text messages from the district, whether on purpose or accidentally, we are prohibited by FCC regulations from just opting you back in without permission. Please be sure that you mark “yes” in the annual update for Short Message Service text messages.
